is much more than an FTP client. It is an intuitive ordering front-end that is customized with your lab's logo, and hard-wired to your server. When you distribute your branded version of FTPhoto to your customers, the benefits are many:
- It's a nimble desktop program. It is not a server-side application, accessed by the customer through a browser, that you pay someone else to run (or must have the means to run yourself.) Nor does it depend on a Java runtime, but instead presents a look and feel that your customers will find familiar and easy to use.
- Since it is self-contained on the user's computer, orders can even be created while offline, and saved for later uploading. Your professional customers will appreciate this, since they can prepare orders while on location or in transit (and upload them at the airport hot spot! This, as they say, is based on a true story.)
- You own it. This is not rentware, and you receive updates, as they become available, for one year from the date of deployment. You receive Macintosh and Windows versions, to distribute to your customers as you see fit.
- It is targeted to your lab. A customer can use a generic FTP client to send a file anywhere. When he or she is using your branded version of FTPhoto, the file is coming to you.
- Multi-language support. A single binary of FTPhoto can display in the language used by your customer's OS. This is useful not only for labs in non-English-speaking countries, but also for those labs with a multilingual clientele. If FTPhoto is not already localized for your language(s), we are ready to work with you.
- An order form is automatically generated, and included with the uploaded files, all in a single folder. Maybe you are presently sifting through e-mails, to make sense of what has been put on your server. No more.
- Shared-key encryption protects the confidentiality of your customers' contact and payment information, for safe transmission using standard FTP.
- E-mail confirmation of uploads. FTPhoto will email you when a customer has made an upload, with a copy of the mail going back to the customer. For this purpose, your version will be targeted to an SMTP (outgoing) mail server of your choosing.
- Server administration is easy. Remember, the whole idea of FTPhoto is to send the orders to your own in-house server, not put them somewhere where you in turn have to download them. If you have a high-speed internet connection, establishing an FTP server is a simple matter...especially with FTPhoto. This is true even if you do not have a static IP address.
